From
Coach Terry Brands...
Located
in beautiful Pagosa Springs, Colorado, Our team camp will be
conducted to benefit wrestlers and coaches from a competitive standpoint as
well as a technical one. If there is an area you and your team needs to
improve upon, we will work to solve those issues diligently. We will have a
daily combination of technique and up to three duals per day. A camp
counselor will be assigned to each team to help with technical questions,
motivation, encouragement, and instruction. This camp will teach basic
mental and physical preparation for competition with daily seminars set to
address nutrition, strength, endurance, conditioning, and mental toughness
issues.
A special all-star team will be selected
at the end of camp, consisting of the two wrestlers at each weight with the
best records. A team champion will also be recognized. We aim to bring
elite level wrestling skills and knowledge to this camp and will maintain a
high standard set to bring the best camp situation for your team.” |

The Wrestle the World Outdoor Camp offers a unique opportunity to
enjoy wrestling and the outdoors together. Each team will be assigned a camping
area and will be responsible for providing their own tents and bedding.
Flashlight and/or lanterns are recommended. The camp will provide three meals a
day served in the high school cafeteria.
Wrestling will take place in the high school gymnasium. Technique
sessions will be held daily in addition to team dual competition. While the
weather in June is usually dry and warm during the day, and cool to cold at
night, in the event of bad weather the high school is available.

“The trademark of Brands wrestling is hardnosed, fundamentally sound
wrestling and mental toughness. The outdoor format adds immeasurably to the
experience. In the end it only serves to heighten the lessons Terry exemplifies
and instills. It is a fantastic team-building experience."

Camp Cost
Though WTW Camp in Pagosa Springs is a Team Camp, individual wrestlers are
welcome and will be assigned a team to compete on. Technique and
competition sessions are appropriate for all High School and Middle School age
wrestlers. However, there are typically fewer matches for middle school
age wrestlers. We always attempt to modify technique and competition
sessions to meet the needs of the younger wrestlers.
